After completing this educational activity, participants will be able to do the following:

Identify red flags for genetic cardiovascular diseases in a patient’s personal and family health history and identify instances where understanding genotype may improve patient care.
Examine the role of genetic testing in the diagnostic and management processes for patients with cardiovascular diseases, including congenital heart disease, arrhythmia, bicuspid aortic valve, and left-sided obstructive heart malformations.
Collaborate with interprofessional healthcare team members to discuss current management practices for patients diagnosed with, or at risk for, genetic cardiovascular diseases.
Assess novel genetics practice models for cardiovascular diseases.

The Symposium is targeted to physicians, geneticists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals seeking to learn the latest developments in cardiogenetics, especially providers in Cardiology, Clinical Genetics, Molecular Genetics Pathology, Internal Medicine and Subspecialties, Pediatrics, and Nursing.
